Shooting To Shoot

There is nothing like shooting, to shoot. I got up at 5:20 in the morning the other day and met up with a friend. We took a few self portraits….some shots of each other, and couple of scenic images as well. It was a blast….shooting for yourself is how almost every photographer falls in love with it. Personally, I love doing portraits and self portraits for a few reasons.
1. You can really create the image you have envisioned in your head.
2. For me it’s therapeutic. I really believe that when you do some self portraits you are reflecting back on where you are at. Sometimes it may be in a subconscious matter and others a very deliberate manner.
3. I like to try to create scenes, a story almost. There are a lot of pretty images, that are well…..pretty. But I personally enjoy images that makes you stop, and think about what is going on.

So go create, just to…..create. Keep it simple.
